I know what it feels like to be looking at all of the “successful” coaching businesses and wondering when my time was coming.
I was guilty of compare and despair too.
I also felt entitled. I mean, after all, I posted three times this week, I sent emails to my 30 people the entire month of December and nothing!
“This doesn’t work! It’s not working! No one wants my stuff! Wrong niche…again!”
“I am done!”
Here is what you should be done with my friend:
- Not doing the work and thinking it will work.
- Doing the work and thinking you are entitled to a return.
- Self-pity.
- Comparing yourself to anyone except who you were yesterday.
- Thinking this is going to be quick and easy.
- Thinking you have done more than you have.
- Thinking that you should be further along than you are.
- Giving value in order to get a return.
- Holding back because you are afraid you will run out of content.
- Ruminating in Niche drama…I cannot over emphasize this enough!
- Not doing the work to experience your own transformations.
- Time scarcity…just be done.
- Money scarcity…just be done.
- Content scarcity…just be done.
There is no magic time frame, there is no secret sauce…except for you!
Here is the magic to creating your coaching practice:
- Show up like a coach every day and make an offer to serve.
- Seek to evolve and transform a little more every day in some area of your life.
- Think about your clients 24/7.
- Love your clients, even the “difficult” ones. Especially the difficult ones.
- Cheer all those amazing coaches who are helping people.
- Get over the search for a perfect niche. It is keeping you from serving your people.
- Compare yourself only to who you were yesterday.
- Compare your business only to what it was yesterday.
- Give all your content willingly without expectation that it will come back to you but with BELIEF that it will.
- Wake up with a mindset of enough time, enough money, enough clients, enoughness.
- Be willing to fail a hundred times.
- Stop thinking this is supposed to be easy.
- Stop thinking that perfection is a destination.
- Be willing to be ugly, awkward and uncomfortable.
- Stop thinking your are entitled to a 100K business until you have put 200K of value into the universe.
- Stop wishing you could jump to a 100K business without experiencing the journey.
- Embrace the journey.
That was some hard love right there my friend. I had to hear all of the same things. I had to wake up and start showing up for my people.
I literally had the thought…”they know where they can find me if they need my help, I don’t want to bother people” WHAT?
So what is the answer to “how long should this take?”
However long it takes to “be done” with one list and get through the other.
That my friend…is up to you!
