You may have already heard that in order to grow your coaching practice, your potential coaching clients must first “know, like, and trust you.”
Writing blog posts to educate your audience is a super fab way to establish the “know, like and trust factor.”
But…you struggle. Turns out, Bloggers Block is a real thing!
Struggling to write is common, and it is no indication of your ability to create the “know, like and trust factor.”
Struggling is an indicator of where there is an opportunity for growth…that’s it!
It might be helpful for you to know that in 2017, when I started my blog at www.myreadysetgoal.com, my thoughts were…
“I’m not a writer, who do I think I am, who is going to read any of it, what’s the point.”
So if your brain is freaking out a little bit…you are in good company!
First step is…schedule it!
Put it on your calendar at a specific period for at least an hour, but you get to decide.
Then when that time comes, you sit down and you do what you committed to do…you write until your time is up.
You might be saying, “Well, what if I am not done?”
You are done, in that period of time, you are done.
What you have is what you go with. It does not need to be a masterpiece. Blogs are meant to attract and communicate to your audience, they are not arenas for practicing perfectionism.
Who are your people and what do you want them to know today? What do you want to share with them? What is your thought of the day. Write that!
Committing and constraining to the time on your calendar, and then honoring that time, creates a meta skill that will serve you in so many other areas too.
Before the blog.
Get into alignment with what you want to create. Get into expert energy and into a vibration of attracting the outcome you want to create.
Think about your people.
I think about creating an outcome of understanding my message, attracting my client, writing an informative piece that resonates.
I don’t worry about what I think I am not capable of…that is self sabotage.
Think about what you want to create. The few minutes that you spend calming your mind will transform your results!
Stick to your routine.
Once you get into this habit, you need to maintain it.
There is nothing worse than getting hooked on someone’s content only to have them take off and be on mental vaca…for months!
You don’t want people stumbling onto your page to find that your last blog was 6 months ago. They (your people) want a coach who is thinking about them before you have even met them.
Be OK with B- work.
Perfectionism is rooted in fear. It’s an indicator of a growth opportunity…that’s it. Doesn’t mean anything more than that.
Brooke Castillo talks about perfectionism in this podcast, I highly recommend you take a listen.
What about running out of ideas?
Consume content!
Every successful coach I know is also known for the tons of books they read or podcasts they listen to. That’s why they’re able to produce and create so much.
Consuming content feeds and fuels the brain. You will notice yourself getting ideas on how you can frame this concept for your people, your audience.
Get started!
Don’t wait for motivation or inspiration…don’t ruminate in perfectionism or procrastination…just dive in!
Your audience needs to hear your voice, no other voice resonates with them.
